Shalini Arunogiri, Turning Point and Monash University

Associate Professor Shalini Arunogiri is a clinical addiction psychiatrist and researcher.

She is Clinical Director at Turning Point, Eastern Health and the Hamilton Centre, Victoria’s Statewide Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. Shalini is Associate Professor and NHMRC Emerging Leader at Monash University, with over 70 peer reviewed publications and over $20M in research funding as a chief investigator on studies for novel treatments for substance use disorder, following completion of her PhD in methamphetamine psychosis. She is immediate past-Chair of the RANZCP Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry (2017-2024), past board member and training officer for the International Society of Addiction Medicine, executive committee member for the World Association of Dual Disorders (WADD) and board director for the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE).

Shalini is a passionate advocate for clinician-researchers in mental health and addiction and enjoys mentoring health professionals in advancing their research careers.
