Beware of fraud

Avoid fraudulent companies such as Global Travel Team, Global Travel Experts or Converia Travel.

Please take extra care when registering for APSAD 2025 or booking accommodation. Several unauthorised third-party companies falsely claim to offer registration or hotel services on behalf of the conference. These organisations may use logos or branding to appear legitimate, but engaging with them may result in financial loss, invalid bookings, or compromised personal data.

Known fraudulent companies include:

  • Global Travel Team (planning@gtravelhosting.com)
  • Global Travel Experts
  • Converia Travel
You may also be targeted via email—particularly if you are listed as a speaker or presenter.

Official APSAD 2025 Contacts

To ensure your registration and accommodation are secure, only engage with APSAD 2025 via:

  • apsadconference(at)ashm.org.au
  • Conference team members: Mikayla Mason, Amy Sargent, Elizabeth Baxter

APSAD 2025 does not partner with any external travel or accommodation booking agencies.

What to Do if You Are Contacted by a Suspected Scammer

  1. Do not respond — Any reply confirms your email is active and may lead to further targeting.
  2. Do not provide payment or personal information.
  3. Alert the APSAD Conference Team immediately via apsadconference(at)ashm.org.au

How to Protect Your Registration

  • Only register through the official APSAD 2025 organiser (ASHM).
  • ASHM will never request your login credentials or passwords. Do not share these details with any third party, including agencies claiming to organise group bookings.

Accommodation Warning

If you are contacted by any company offering hotel bookings for APSAD 2025, please assume it is unauthorised unless it is explicitly listed on the official APSAD conference website.

Fraudulent travel agencies often offer “discounted” rooms, take payment, and then disappear — leaving attendees without valid reservations and forced to find last-minute accommodation at their own expense.
