REGISTRATION RATES

To encourage the broadest participation possible in the conference we are offering a range of registration categories. Make sure you read the Registration Discounts to check whether you are eligible for one of these categories.

*All rates are displayed in AUD Australian Dollars.

Any delegate affiliated with tobacco entities (current, in the past, or have future plans), tobacco lobbyists, either professionally or on a personal basis, will be ineligible to attend or present at the APSAD Darwin 2022 Hybrid Conference.

APSAD’s policy is aligned with the World Health Organization’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, Article 5.3: There is a fundamental and irreconcilable conflict between the tobacco industry’s interest and public health policy interests.

Any delegate who, in the past five years, has conducted, commissioned or disseminated research for an organisation producing, distributing, selling, or promoting alcoholic beverages, any proxies or affiliates thereof, or an advocacy, trade or Social Aspects Organisation for an alcohol producer/distributer/seller/promoter is ineligible to attend or present at the APSAD Darwin 2022 Hybrid Conference.

Paid registrations of such persons described above will not be refunded.

By checking the Conference Terms and Conditions box when submitting an abstract for presentation and/or registering for the conference you declare that none of the specifications described above apply to you.

Group Registration

Using the Group Registration Portal you will be able to designate a group coordinator then register, view and manage multiple registrations in one place as well as receive one invoice for multiple registrations.

Group Discounts available through the Group Registration Portal ONLY:

  • For every group of five (5) full conference registrations, the sixth (6th) full conference registration will be free (when registered through the Group Registration Portal ONLY)
  • For every group of ten (10) full conference registrations, the eleventh (11th) and twelfth (12th) full conference registrations will be free (when registered through the Group Registration Portal ONLY)

The Australasian Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) is dedicated to promoting improved standards in clinical practice for medical practitioners and other health professionals who deal with alcohol and other drug-related problems in the course of their work. It also provides a network of drug and alcohol professionals in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific.

Through its internationally recognised scientific journal, the Drug and Alcohol Review, and its annual Scientific Conference, APSAD provides a forum for the latest research on the nature, prevention and treatment of physical, psychological and social problems related to the use of psychoactive substances.

APSAD offers various forms of professional development to support the varied interest of its members. These include:

APSAD understands the difficulty students face around limited funding and the need to have a support network and recognise that students are the future of the alcohol and other drug sector. Providing free membership allows students studying in Australia and New Zealand to access member-only benefits and resources without barriers.

Student members have access to exclusive Early to Mid Career Researchers events, networking, mentoring, advice and guidance, supporting our Student Members, through a range of membership activities and benefits.

Category Definition

APSAD or DANA Member

APSAD or DANA member rate applies to current financial members of the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD) and the Drug and Alcohol Nurses of Australasia (DANA). If you are unsure whether you are a current member please contact your Society.

Student

Students must be undertaking training during the year of the conference. A student is defined as a holder of a full time student identification card from a recognised tertiary or secondary educational institution or international student card. Students must be studying full time to qualify for the discounted rate.

Consumer

A consumer includes all people accessing alcohol and other drug treatment, support and harm reduction services, including drug users and significant others/people affected by another’s drug use.

Shared Registrations – Face to Face

If you are sharing a registration with a colleague/s you will be given a generic badge for your organisation. Each colleague will need to collect and return the badge from the registration desk each day. A sign in and out form will be available at the registration desk which is required to be completed.
