Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts is now closed.

The 2011 APSAD Conference Scientific Program Committee are calling for abstracts which address all aspects of licit and illicit drug use/misuse.

2011 APSAD Conference Scientific Program Committee required all abstract authors to follow one of the below templates:

Abstract Template A

This will typically suit the structure of empirical studies, but may also be appropriate for qualitative, policy or other types of articles. Authors should note that this format requires the presence of concrete results, and points will be deducted from the assessment of the abstract where these are absent. In the case of research in progress, where results are pending at the time of submission, we would encourage submission using Abstract B. Abstract should be a maximum of 250 words.

Abstract Template B

This will typically suit the structure of reviews, methods papers, qualitative studies, policy analysis or alternative research methods, however, it may also be appropriate for empirical studies. In the case of empirical studies that are in progress, where results are pending at the time of submission, we would encourage submission using Abstract A. Abstract should be a maximum of 250 words.

The Scientific Program Committee may reallocate a presentation type on the basis of time, space available and applicability to the Conference themes.

Abstracts should present original work that has not been published/presented elsewhere.

Abstract submission is a two-step process:

Publication of abstracts

Abstracts submitted will be published in a supplement of the Drug and Alcohol Review distributed at the conference. The Drug and Alcohol Review is APSAD’s official journal and is Asia-Pacific’s leading multidisciplinary journal addressing issues related to alcohol and drug-related problems. Published bi-monthly as of 2005, the Drug and Alcohol Review presents original research, policy development and information in the drug and alcohol research field. The journal is an international forum for the views, expertise and experience of all those involved in the study of treatment of alcohol, tobacco and drug problems. The journal represents an important source of information to clinicians, drug and alcohol agency staff, researchers, policy makers, and alcohol service administrators. Please consider this when writing your abstract, structure it accordingly (including any relevant data) and proofread abstracts carefully to avoid errors before submission. Proof pages will be sent to authors in October, it is the author’s responsibility to review proofs and return any corrections by the due date. Change in data or abstract content is not permitted at proof stage. Revisions to abstracts will not be permitted after Tuesday 24 May 2011, submission deadline. For further information please contact the Drug and Alcohol Review editorial officer.
