2011 APSAD Awards

2011 APSAD Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Research and Practice

Nominations are now closed.

The APSAD Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Research and Practice are designed to provide peer recognition for those working in the drug and alcohol field in Australasia.

APSAD is adding a new Award in 2011, the First People’s Award.

The First People’s Award is for Australasian Indigenous persons in research, training, practice, prevention, or policy in any area related to substance use at any stage of your career.

The Senior Scientist and Early Career Awards are also open to Indigenous professionals.

APSAD is now calling for nominations for the 2011 APSAD Awards in three categories:
1. Early Career Award
2. Senior Scientist Award
3. First People’s Award

All three Awards reflect excellence in the application of theory and knowledge to any aspect of drug and alcohol use or misuse.

Recipients will be recognised as having made an outstanding contribution to reducing the harms associated with alcohol and other drug use in Australasia.

Each Award receives a plaque and $2,500.  These will be presented at the  APSAD Conference Gala Dinner in Hobart, 15 November 2011.
